Antique Scottish Bracelet Circa 1880
9ct gold Bracelet consisting of 8 gem set half locket like panels and one drop locket with hidden tongue and box snap. The panels graduate from (20 x 12mm) to (28 x 23mm) and are set with a variety of Scottish gems from the Cairngorm Mountains; i.e. agates, blood-stones, jasper, carnelian etc. and set in various cruciform shapes. Fine Condition. Circa 1880. Housed in original fitted jewellery case. Jewellers ‘MacKay, Cunningham and Co. Goldsmiths to the Queen 54 Princes St Edinburgh. A famous firm responsible Scottish jewellery and for the even more famous silver “Claret Jug” awarded to the winner of the British Open Golf Tournament from 1872.
